Blue Faced Honeyeater by terryliv

Blue Faced Honeyeater

A fairly typical pose for these birds. They spend a lot of time squawking at things, especially rainbow lorikeets, but rarely do anything to follow up on the threats. They are quite pretty in their own way though. See flip side at http://365project.org/terryliv/directors-cut/2014-04-03
Sam

Okay, this is way better than flattened lizard. Chuckle-chuckle about these guys not following up on their threats. They're just all talk and no go, huh? Well, they look good while squawking.

I hope we don't see a flat version of this guy tomorrow. Interesting contrast when viewed from the two different angles. From above he looks like Flounder from the Little Mermaid, and from below a bit like the gas tank of my motorcylce. Good camouflage.

With the international date line, my comment comes after Kevin's ... but in the past ... or was his in the future! LOL.

Nice shot. The rainbow lorikeets always win in any fight between them here. Like you say they don't follow up.

Not a familiar bird for me, but love the sunshiny yellow with the dab of blue.

Great shot. These guys are first rate hit and run thieves at the local cafés and restaurants, don't look away or your snack will go!
April 5th, 2014
@terryliv Wow, brave bird. Never seen that before, That would have been a picture!!!
April 5th, 2014
@kporte That's interesting Keith because the ones that visit our yard are really timid. Look sideways at them and they are off.
April 6th, 2014
Thanks for the two-dimensional promise.
