I had to go into the city this morning and knew exactly what pics I was going to post tonight. Took my pics as well as a few others as backup and was headed back to the bus stop when I came across these buskers.
Now I'm a fully paid up GOM with pretty fixed music tastes and consequently find very little to like in the latest pop music but these kids were great with excellent 5 part harmonies (is there such a thing?). I stood and watched them for quite some time along with quite a number of other people.
My wife had given me $5 lunch money which I happily gave to the buskers (thankfully I had my bus ticket home) and left a happy GOM.
Turns out they are siblings ranging in ages from 20 (the blonde on the right) to 14 (the girl next to her). Actually, the way blondie used to throw her head around when she sang reminded me very much of Mary Travers.
Now I have to go back into town and take all my pics again of the other places I had planned for today.
Sadly, that Boston t-shirt is the first thing that caught my eye. It's probably the big white X on black that drew me in. As for U.S. fashion, uh, well, not sure what to say about that. Good action shot here. Can't help but wonder what shots hit the cutting room floor — glad you're planning on going back to take them again.
@lyndemc I think I should have put a :-) after that comment. Sorry. Actually the best comeback would have been - "Well you're the silly buggars wearing them". LOL
I can nearly hear them singing! Great capture of them. So what becomes of the photos that don't make it? I've had a few of those days and just hope I can get those lost shots again one day - but who knows! Well captured - I can see why they "won" for the day :)
@gilbertwood Decisions as to which shots make it always revolve around the question "Will I be able to get that shot again?" For the buskers - No. For the landmark shots Yes. Therefore the buskers win.
Thank you everyone and thanks for your concerns re my lunch money and my bus trip home. Now back to PP&M
