Father Brushtail by terryliv

Father Brushtail

We had both male and female brushtail possums down for a feed last night. The female has a joey in her pouch but she would not sit at the right angle for me to get a good shot of her so we have to do with the male tonight. Hopefully tonight for mumma
I have had to invoke Rule 37, Sect 3, Sub-Sect 42 for this shot. Best on black
They look much softer than our version here in the states

Great shot! Love these fellas too! Glad you're reading the fine print in the rule book :)

I don't have a rule book, maybe I should get or adopt one, as rules were made to be broken. I do smile every time I run a red light in the Fire truck. :)

Beautiful shot of Mr. Adorable. What rule did you break?

Wow. your possums are cuter than ours!

Very cute. Our possums are extremely unattractive, with naked rat-like tails and narrow white faces.

See? All us USAers like your cute, soft Australian 'possums. I bet they have a darling accent too.

The GRT on my rusty spike pic stands for Great Rusty Tuesday, something someone started here on 365. There's some theme for every day of the week (I think Wednesday is B&W day but I do enough of that in my second album.) No ignorance on your part but rather mine for assuming the pic's title would be understood.

This guy looks so soft and cute. The possums in Tahoe are aggressive and scary.

@teiko Hi Emilie, Rule 37 Sect 3; sub-Sect 43 states that any shots taken on Day x after you have posted you Day x shots can be legitimately posted on Day x+1

You possums are sure cute and where I live not so true. If we had possums that looked like this we would be happy to see and shoot them. Really a goo image I love it. FAV

Nicely done, Poppo. I normally run into these fellas when I don't have a flash on me!

Your encounter with a looks brush tail looks a lot more sedate than mine was. Good shot.

We have a resident possum here, she lives in her little house in the tamarind tree and the shed and likes to run madly across the roof at night. She often has a baby and they are so cute. This one's beautiful, I don't know if ours are brush-tail or not. Love the shot.

That's a fabulous capture Poppo! In the 3 years I have lived here and I am in the bush, I have only seen a couple of possums in the city! Fav

@elaine55 true story Elaine. My daughter lived in Cremorne for a few years and one night we were slowly walking back from the Oaks hotel along Military Rd and all of a sudden, a ringtail possum came out of one of the street trees, ran along the ground and straight up my daughters slacks and then under her jacket up under her arm. It stayed there for a few seconds (and presumably realised that Kylie was not a tree) before it raced back down again and then back up its tree. We all nearly cracked up laughing.

That is such a funny story but I am glad it didn't do that to me! Thanks for sharing that me me smile!
