I already had my pics for the day but this evening, the Tawny Frogmouth was back hunting beetles and I just couldn't help myself.
I had taken a couple of good shots of him sitting on the clothes line and was about to take another but just as I pressed the shutter, he took off after a beetle. Love the way his feet are still on the perch.
If only I hadn't zoomed in so much I would have got all his wings in the frame. Damn :-(
Great shot Terry. Fav. It must indeed be Frogmouth time - we hadn't seen any for ages then last night we sitting on the deck when one suddenly appeared on a tree stump right in front of us!
@mjalkotzy I would normally use burst mode for attempted BIF shots Martin but I cant use it with the flash enabled so it is single shot only with these night time shots
