Government House by terryliv

Government House

They had an open day at Government House today so I thought I would take my recently acquired 10-18mm wide angle and get some mind blowingly good shots inside.
I never made it inside for two reasons:
There were people everywhere with big long queues to get in (I thought I was the only person who knew about it); and
Once inside, you were not allowed to take photos. Phhhttttt!!!
So I wandered around outside for half an hour and then went home.
I actually like this shot but if I had come out a bit, there would have been all these humans wrecking it.
Lovely crisp image Poppo, gorgeous blue and white contrasts :)

Beautiful sharp detail, great use of the strong sunlight highlighting the fine architectural features, lovely composition and framing Terry, Its a pain those people get everywhere to spoil a shot, lol:)

I hate queues too Poppo. Fancy them opening up Govt House and allowing other people in other than yourself!

I didn't know it was open today! Lovely detail. Are you pleased with your lens?

Well captured Poppo. I did not know it was open, but then I have been there on invitation before!!!!! So long ago I can't remember why?????

Lovely contrast the white on the blue. Nice clean building.

Fabulous building. A bit inconsiderate not allowing you to take photos inside. I went to the cathedral in Sydney a few years ago and George Pell wouldn't allow you to take photos in there either. You could buy postcards and books though with pictures of the inside. Odd that.

Excellent framing Poppo, love the stark white against the sky!

Very pretty against the blue sky.

Beautiful shot.

Two good reasons why you haven't posted an inside photo!! However this shot is impressive with the white architecture against the blue and white sky, and of course no humans in sight :)

It's a great wide angle shot -- and I like the pristine feel to the scene -- sharp white against the blue sky. For this image, people would definitely have wrecked it!

This is a great shot and looks so warm because of the shite building, and blue skies and great clouds.

Wonderful shot Terry. You should have hit the fire alarm and cleared the building.lol.What make of lens did you buy??

@peterlgrave Canon 10-18mm.
We are heading on a camping tour of Central Australia in August and doing the Oodnadatta, Birdsville and Strzelecki tracks. Hoping to try my hand at some night sky shots. Conditions should be perfect for it
