Take Me for a Ride in Your . . . Tractor?

There was a heap of these guys camped at Dalhousie Springs. They had been on the road for days and had come from all over Oz on their way to the National Transport (Truckies) Hall of Fame induction in Alice Springs.
Damned if I would like to travel any distance in one of these let alone over the very rough tracks we were on. No suspension, just the rubber tyres and quite slow. Can't imagine how uncomfortable they would be.

Amazing find of these modified tractors! Certainly wouldn't want to be in one! I had to take photos of an inductee to the Hall of Fame for the submission - he made it in :)

Even the driving might be hard on their bodies, but at least they have comfortable accommodation and beds to rest their weary bodies.
