This is another place that I want to get back to. The stars didn't align when we were there. Torrential rainfall overnight meant that we couldn't get out of the caravan park until they'd brought in machinery to clear the road. We thought we'd splash out on a helicopter flight over the canyon while we waited but the helicopter was out of commission. When we eventually mad it out, we walked as far as we could into the canyon, but the last section was closed off because there was too much water flowing through to be able to cross the creek and the lookout beyond the creek had been damaged in a rockfall. It was too slippery and too late to attempt the rim walk.

This is a GREAT shot. Perfect timing and lighting. I love the way the foreground is shaded by dusk while the Crag is sunlit and standing majestically above all else.
