One of the good things about a tour like this is that the driver knows all the great little places to pull off for a cuppa. We would be going along through some pretty ordinary country when he would pull of and head 100 mtrs or so down a track and end up in a lovely shady spot.
I think Graeme Smith is looking to see if the last people through here left any snags (sausages) behind.
@lyndemc They are Ghost Gums Denise and are a real icon of the Australian Outback. I tried Googling Ghost Gum so I could be more specific but could not get a definitive answer for you. It may be Corymbia aparrerinja but I'm not sure.
Up until 1990, I would have been able to say that the Ghost Gum is one of the Eucalypts but that all changed when scientists introduced a new genus Corymbia which included all of the Ghost Gums and the Bloodwoods. However to 99.99% of Australians, it is still a Eucalypt.
Aside from being a fun shot, I learned several things: 1) what a cuppa is, 2) what a snag is, 3) what a Ghost Gum is, and 4) Graeme is a hobo. Thanks for the lesson, Poppo!
