A Lily Perhaps?

Day 8: Glen Canyon

A welcome break from the avalanche of landscape shots I have been posting.

These lily like trumpet flowers were growing on the river bank where we stopped in Glen Canyon

It's Datura.. in the nightshade Family... be careful you can go silly in the head on them.. but the do have a lovely smell..

We have similar flowers here. I don't think they are truly lilies. They very, very drought tolerant whatever they are. I may try to look them up, if I get the time. Lovely photo of them. A favorite.

@julzmaioro @janeandcharlie I always thought daturas hung down from a tree, not upright from a small bush. You learn something every day.
