Kudzu growing... by thewatersphotos

Kudzu growing...

On my walks now, I go inside the permitter of our fields which is surrounded by a 6 foot wire fence. On the south side (next to a dirt road) the Kudzu is growing up on the fence. It would be ideal to eradicate the Kudzu, but that is often "easier said than done". It has been said that Zudzu grows inches each day.
Kudzu was brought to the US from Japan to control erosion, but has since "taken over'.
It’s nice and green but you could do without the take over, not good. We have something called Russian vine that takes over its grow as a garden climber but takes over every thing if not kept clipped back. It’s ideal if you need a building covered!

I have heard of it but don't think I've seen it before - thanks for sharing this shot.

Boy, that stuff can really take over a place in a hurry. Nice to see a close up of it.

True about kudzu and it probably grew a few feet with all the rain from the storms that hit yesterday and last night... hope you fared well in the storms.

@craftymeg Thank you. I have seen many houses completely covered by kudzu.

@kvphoto I'm sure it did. We got >5.0 inches of rain in less than 12 hours.

@thewatersphotos Nope. I'd have to go to a roadside to get any here. Not sure I want anything that's been that close to all the gas fumes, etc.
