Part of our family is visiting for a couple days! Our oldest grandson (and his dad) LOVE trains. I have a toy train I used in my work that is now home. The tracks were configured and re-configured several times to create the best, most exciting run for the train. Above is a shot of the train coming through the bell tower headed down the hill. Such fun for all!!
This is wonderful. My great uncle was an engineer and in his spare time he used to make locomotives 🚂 that ran on a small track around his garden and we could ride on it. It was such fun.
@carolmactx@randystreat@craftymeg Thank you Carol, Kathy and Meg! Lying on my side with the camera over the track as the train came "flying down" then moving quickly to keep from being run over! :- )
Your train looks like it's smiling :). Fond memories of my father and his HO gauge train set. He took such delight in his hobby. Once he became home bound with cancer, he built his tracks on platforms that circumnavigated the entire living room and a section would raise up like a drawbridge to allow people in and out the front door.
@jyokota That is such an awesome story! I can "see" the train running through the living room and your dad's delight at raising the drawbridge! Thanks so much for sharing your story!
@thewatersphotos - thanks for appreciating it. My father died at age 46 and I was but a child so this memory is my last vivid memory of him. But you've given me a thought -- perhaps I should photograph some of his trains! I still have a couple of the engines.
