After my visit to 'The Rookery', @pamknowler and @rosiekind and I went to Garfield Park Conservatory. I feel a little bad because I did not realize the beauty of the station from this platform until they had already left.
This station house was originally built in 1894 two blocks to the east, but the CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) and the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency moved the station house closer to Garfield Park Conservatory, this move was greeted with much controversy...if you are interested why take a look at this short link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homan_(CTA_Green_Line_station)
I spent a while trying to make this shot straight, yet it is still askew. I think my problem is that I was not quite centered. Need to go back here I think!
Well done -- this is a very tricky station to capture straight on! I've always ended up using the tracks as the focus for not being able to get the lines lined up straight on. I think you did great here. And the slight desaturation works well, rather than b&w, as its color is one of its distinctive features.
We both noticed how pretty the station was -Andie but I for one was too shattered to get my camera out again! Lol! What a great day! Thanks so much for taking us out to Garfield Park Conservatory it was lovely wandering around among the ferns! Fav!
