May word - Skull.
Thomas Deacon had an ample estate and a charity school was founded by himself for the sum of £165 a year. The Thomas Deacon school still exists in Peterborough although it is now an Academy where my granddaughter is in the 6th form. This memorial stand in Peterborough Cathedral.
I know to some it will seem strange to see this skull, but if I'm remembering my Fine Arts studies correctly, the skull was a symbol of wisdom and knowledge. So it becomes an appropriate symbol for someone who started a school. Good shot.
