Port Sanilac Lighthouse by yogiw

Port Sanilac Lighthouse

Our lighthouse scavenger hunt began as we started our journey up Lake Huron. By the end of the day, we had seen all five lighthouses visible by land between Detroit and Bay City. We knew it was pre-season before we planned the trip so I wasn't surprised that all were closed until Memorial Day weekend.

The Port Sanilac Lighthouse had a beautiful back yard and view of Lake Huron. It was owned privately which was something we found common among other lighthouses we visited. They aren't used anymore so many people have bought them for their personal use or to renovate opening them to the public on Lighthouse Festival days a couple times a year.

I love the processing on this shot. How fun would it be to live in a old lighthouse! Wonderful layers and elements in this one. :)

@stevepam @gardenfolk Thank you! I have a weakness for lighthouses and gazebos. You should see how many photos of both I took on our trip.
