Our one full day in Ann Arbor was a shopping day. After a yummy breakfast of cinnamon raisin French toast we started our retail therapy.
I've known about it for years and had always wanted to go to Hollander's, a retail store in Ann Arbor specializing in decorative papers and bookbinding supplies. We walked in and I couldn't believe it. They stock over 2,000 decorative papers, one more beautiful than the next. I was so overwhelmed, I didn't know where to look first. I ended up buying a couple sheets of paper and an anniversary card for Ande. The photos I took of each rack of paper will be a great souvenir.
After walking around town, including taking a break at the world-renowned Zingerman's Deli for cherry pie and coffee, we made our way to Motawi Tileworks to visit their showroom. Another overwhelming place filled with beautiful, handmade Arts & Crafts tiles by one of my favorite companies. Ande bought a retired tile for me for our anniversary that now sits proudly on our mantel. Oops, our anniversary isn't until the 29th but that's okay. Gives me 9 more days to admire it!
At 6:00 we met Dave and Karen for dinner, old friends we hadn't seen in years. The first thing they said as they walked in the room was, "Now maybe we'll make the newsletter." Bill and Peg said the same thing when we met them on Mackinac Island. Guess I'm going to have to split the box. 😆
