On my favourite dog walk through the Dingle I have to stop, spend time by the stream and the little waterfall. For several days now I was aware of something flashing passed low over the water, in the dimming light of evening. Not a brilliant shot, but quite pleased that I have a shot of this pretty little bird - think it is a Grey Wagtail? First time have seen one and believe a recent arrival in The Dingle.
Yes you are right Jo, it is a Grey Wagtail and it is probably looking for somewhere to breed. It might even be the one that has wintered in my garden, as he has recently vanished, like he did last Spring. Lovely find.
I suppose it wags its tail for the name? I really can't see that it should be called what @cancarrier suggested though - maybe the Yellow Bottomed Wagtail?
