Wasp collage

Whilst busy digging over the garden I noticed this wasp at my elbow - first reaction was to move out of the way, it disappeared then re-appeared out of this tiny hole, approx 4 to 5 mm diameter, in the old tree trunk - quickly downed spade to fetch my camera
