Many of you will know Ethel Perry @ethelperry and have followed her project here on 365 for the last several years. I had a message from her Granddaughter to say she passed away on the 16th of July after a stroke 2 months ago . I had been missing her messages on my photos and seeing her compositions. Laura said "Nana cherished the company of the 365 friends she made, and sharing her passion of photography with you all. She found 365 a wonderful and practical outlet for her creativity over the last 5 years. And oh was she so creative though out her life, which you may not be fully aware of. " She is a very cherished member of their family and of the 365 family also , she is a treasure.
Although we were not connected as followers I saw a lot of Ethel's pictures on the daily feed. She was a wonderful photographer and dedicated 365er. I'm sure the whole community here sends their love, prayers and condolences to Ethel's family. Rest in peace Ethel.
Thank you for letting us know. Ethel seemed such a lovely person and was a photographer who had a great eye for light and composition. Although I'm not here on 365 often now, Ethel's was a presence I will miss very much.
My deepest condolences to Ethel's family and friends in 'real life'.
I've been thinking of Ethel, so the moment I saw just her name, I knew... We followed one another from the outset, and I was aware of her many artistic talents, her love for her husband and the void left without him. I'm so appreciative that we were told of her passing, and I'm left feeling I've lost such a dear friend. She knew how I felt about her, which is a comfort. I can only imagine the loss to her family. Sending you all my love and condolences; she was a sweetheart!
Thank-you for letting us know. We got to know each other when Dixie @pandorasecho started a month of self-stories, to which she contributed her own ... from a more distant era than any of the rest of us ... and read everyone else's avidly and kindly. She had a most amazing eye for light and shadow in the simplest imaginable subjects. I will miss her.
I’m deeply sorry Ethel's family and friends are experiencing the pain of a loss. Losing her in the 365 family is so sad too.
Thanks Kali @kali66 for letting us know, and sharing with her family how many friends she had here.
@francoise I was just rereading those self stories and then logged in to see this comment. So sad. But what a blessing 365 is to bring people together over so many years and miles.
@kali66 Thank you for posting this Kali. I am Ethel Perry's Granddaughter. If anyone would like an 'Order of Service' posted to them (includes 3 brilliant photos of nana) - or the link to the funeral online - please email me at lauracarthew@gmail.com. For some reason I can't link the funeral. Thank you so much for your beautiful words about my beloved Nana. She truly was a unique and special person that transended her age. She will be so missed by our family. We are heartbroken, but so grateful for her simultaneously. Vale Ethel!
My deepest condolences to Ethel's family and friends in 'real life'.
