Fragility

A hot beautiful spring day with flowers and blossom everywhere and one of Adam's primary school friends collapsed and died playing football today. Fourteen years old - a reminder that life is fragile.
Pretty!!

I am so sorry. I work with 14 year olds, they are so packed full of energy, it's hard to remember how fleeting life can be. It's alot to take in, especially for your son. My thoughts are with you.

That has hit a nerve with me as my son plays football on Saturday mornings... I always worry. But this is a very appropriate photo.

@flamez @jendee3 @parisouailleurs @5unflow3r @remcogreutink @clairelizteuber @jennlouise @samdan Thanks for all your kind comments - he had an asthma attack - the heat and pollution I suppose but I'd no idea his asthma was so bad. Adam's ok - he's resilient - but it's going to be a sad time.

Death is difficult at the best of times, but so young is very tough for all around. My thoughts to the lad's family and hope Adam is OK in the coming weeks. Lovely shot - fantastic letterbox cropping (LOL) and great colours.

Lovely play of purple and yellow - such a pretty happy pic but such a tragic heart-rendering story. Life is so precious and so fragile and tomorrow is promised to no-one. Condolences.
April 25th, 2011
Oh my goodness...I am so sorry to read of that tragedy. What a heart breaking and shocking loss of one so young. There are simply no words to make something like that understandable or easier to accept. Your beautiful image certainly conveys the delicate nature of life.
April 26th, 2011
Such a sad and tragic story, Judith. We must remember that each day is a gift.
April 26th, 2011
Oh no, I'm so sorry he was one of Adam's friends. I saw the story about that poor lad in the paper. It definitely makes you stop and take stock. I was talking to someone the other day whose daughter was in the same class as the 15 year old girl who died of a drug OD at a party in London the other day. That had the same effect. Somehow as the kids get older they seem more fragile than ever.

@helenmoss I know - and it wasn't asthma they don't think - seemed to be really fit and healthy - as well as being upset they find it worrying as well.
April 29th, 2011
oh my goodness...i am so sorry to hear that...soooo scary...it must be really hard on those kids....are they doing grief counseling
