The Ringlets on the Gogs were loving blackberry nectar yesterday. As I thought it would be today was a mad dash from place to place with no photo time at all. Sorry I won't be able to comment till tomorrow. Thanks @shanne for the correction!
Much more variety of butterflies than we have up here ..I only ever see the Cabbage White or Red Admiral ! This is a beautiful one , I like the little eyes on it !
@shanne That'll teach me not to look it up! The notice boards all went on about Meadow Browns so I just assumed...!! Is a Ringlet better? I got all excited about the Mosaic being rare but the books didn't seem to think so!
Butterflies are seasonal. If you survey a site you have to do so four or five times during the summer because you get different species early - brimstone and orange tips, for example - then other butterflies are seen later in the season and it depends on the normal range they're seen over, so rarity is relative. Ringlets are one of several brown butterflies I see here.
have you post processed it so the butterfly is more brighter and the outside area is lighter ?
