I'm not excited about this shot as there are so many genius insect shots on this site but I'm not exactly spoilt for choice tonight. I've done so many urban walks with Monty that I thought I'd take him for an off-lead country ramble - back to the Gog Magogs. It's too cold and windy for butterflies but there are lots of bees doing important things. This is a rather pretty wild clematis-type thing.
I'm desperate to take some classic Cambridge shots but the town is really busy and I haven't had a lot of time - will try tomorrow.
you should be very proud of this shot.....I reckon I took 500 shots today of stoooopid (and I'll call them that !!) bees today and I didn't get one anywhere NEAR as good as this...its awesome and I have a whole new respect for insect photographers....Hee Hee!!!
Look how beautiful and fuzzy he is!!!!!!!
Just loaded mine up like you lots fuzzy - they move too quick for my point & shoot so got lots of misses lots out of focus & a few ok. Nice shot I like the position on the flower & the composition
Oh love this one - I just always want to cuddle them (obviously not a good idea) - they look so soft! I always think of the molly dancers when you mention the Gog Magogs - have you ever seen them? (you'd know ... ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebgasgM9DhM&feature=related
@islawight Well they are a colourful lot!! We have had some odd folk come to the primary school and dance but I seem to remember 'a significant' one with a black outfit and top hat. I know I should have paid more attention but one or two little ones immediately burst in to tears and had to be taken inside by a willing volunteer (well it was drizzling!)!
Love this fuzzy little guy with those marvelous translucent wings ~ wonderful shot. Really well captured! Wish we had some of that cold and windy weather you mentioned.
Look how beautiful and fuzzy he is!!!!!!!
