Take a seat with Mr Scotsdale

A quick P&S shot as I wasn't expecting to find a man with a tache in the local garden centre. His name isn't Scotsdale (though the garden centre is called that) but I can't remember his real name. I like him because he's kept the garden centre independent which means that it still sells more plants than Christmas decorations. He's also generous with charitable donations etc. This statue amongst the seasonal perennials is new and I think it's pretty good so here he is - two statues in two days... My mum and dad are here at the moment so I won't be commenting as much as usual but I'll catch up late run the weekend.
lol more plants than christmas decorations...I hear you & wholeheartedly agree

love these statues. We had several, on loan, in Albany a few years back. They are awesome. Great

Great composition - I love his laid back stance because he looks really relaxed. This picture epitomises everything that's good about garden centres. Really like this as I love my garden and enjoy looking at new plants to put in it. Have a great weekend

Ha yes a garden centre that sells plants seems like a good idea. He looks very laid back and ready to chat.

Looks as if he's a regular visitor to the centre and sits there regularly to rest before returning home from his walk. Great image.

Did you sit down beside him and have a chat? Like the way you composed this. It really catches my attention

I like these statues, they're so realistic. The last one I found I did sit down beside him and have a chat!

Interesting statue and place. At first I thought the statue was a real man who had painted himself, you know, the people who go in the streets, take a position and don't move anymore.

Our local garden centre has a statue like this of the owner sitting on a bench & he is still alive ! Yours looks very relaxed here but his feet look massive !!

Looks like he's waiting for someone to bring him a pint!

I'll bet Mr. Scotsdale is a very good listener!

@happypat As far as I know ours is alive too - somebody's come up with a good money earner!

Ah like him - reminds me of poor probably-melted-down-for-scrap-by-now Dr Salter ...

Wonderful statue and the way you have taken it makes him seem alive. I thought at first that he was one of those 'living statues'

He looks like a very sociable fellow ;). Reminds me of the Oscar Wilde bench in Galway - there were always tourists chatting him up...
