May and September are my favourite months. There is something gentle about them that you don't get in winter or summer. May this year was dismal so I have high expectations for September! Adam home in one piece though some of his friends have random injuries from swimming pools and football and falling out of bed (that's the worst one!). Poor teachers must have been having nervous breakdowns - all the risky trip things like climbing glaciers went completely without incident - you'd think they were safe when they'd gone to bed!!
Three good things:
1. The boy's back.
2. The cupboards are bare already so good for my diet.
3. The paralympics are inspirational. Ellie Symonds made me cry :0)
I thought that about September today. That nice level of temperature when the sun comes out - t-shirt weather but not so hot as to be uncomfortable. This is a lovely picture! You really capture the light in b&w. And I love that you're still doing 3 good things :)
Lovely crisp image, great in b/w. I love September too, autumn is my favourite season, I love the quality of light at this time of year and it's true you have captured it beautifully here.
Very pretty. I hope you have the most spectacular weather this month. I love September too. it's the best where I live with the tourists subsiding and the weather warm in the day and cool in the evening. I can already feel the change.
It was very crisp and September-y this morning. The lighting in this picture is lovely, makes the shapes of the leaves really stand out. I liked your Rose Cresecent picture, I was down there today - puddles dried up though! One day our paths will actually cross!
There was a sharpness in the air yesterday, i even bought 2 new scarves in lovely autumn colours.I like this shot in b/w. I liked your 3 good things for today.
lovely light in this. Our school trips were always fraught with injuries doing the most mundane things. I once jumped off a bunk bed and got my foot stuck between the slats and broke my toe....just before skiing!!
@sparkle Monty tried that with a garden bench - teachers must have loved you! This kid broke/dislocated his arm - really nasty when you're in the middle of nowhere. Adam used to fall out of bed every time he slept in a different one. We found him with a massive egg on his head at Centre Parks once (landed on the bedside cabinet - too dark to come and tell us) and when he had his tonsils out I had to get the nurses to put the toddler guards up!
I thought the exact same thing yesterday: how I like the beginning of spring with the expectation of summer in the air just as much as the beginning of autumn with a cool breeze but no real cold, yet. It's like the world is finally drawing its breath again. And me, too ;). I finally got my energy back after all that heat. Yours is a beautiful shot to celebrate this special feeling!
I'm hoping September is better - I'm on hols soon. :)
