Please view large if possible. Last week there was an uninspiring patch of ground at the back of Trinity College then as if by magic.... Hard to decide whether to go close up or a more expansive shot - I think I've fallen somewhere in between so I hope it works. You can actually feel a sense of relief and release when walking through the town. No icy wind, no rain or sleet, the occasional hint of sunshine and a temperature that allowed you to unzip your anorak without fearing pneumonia.
Met a man starting a '2013 Faces project' and got my photo taken - pic to come in Extras when I've mashed the potatoes.
Three good things:
1. The kiss of spring
2. A touch of colour
3. Meeting a much loved friend across the pond in London tomorrow if Adam can throw off the bug that's got him.
I know what you mean about the indecision when taking this tpe of shot but I think you have it spot on and this is really lovely. Beautiful, beautiful colours of the crocuses.
Beautiful - a touch of Spring. Yes I felt that today too - and I've only been as far as the garden to hang out the washing. Look forward to seeing your face pic! I got one of my 365 pics in the St.Neots version of the News and Crier this week - apparently - as our copy didn't get delivered!
Lovely! We have a patch of crocus in our local public park. I haven't been by in a couple of days but my husband says they're blooming, too. You've inpired me to check it out today. I'm surprised how close our climates seem to be (I live in the Pacifice NW of USA). Indeed, enjoy this kiss of spring!
Such beautiful color! I think that amount of zoom shows the wide sweep of flowers but also lets us focus in on individuals. I'm envious of your earlier spring.
A carpet of colour & promise of Spring to come...three cheers!! Love your focus here & you got so well down...my creaky knees are hampering me from getting low down shots at the moment.
Have a brilliant day tomorrow with your friend.
@happypat I have to confess I employed the screen and just bent over! Nigel held Monty but he was whining and fretting so I didn't have time for too much composing!
O sweet sweet croci. And such a wonderful shot of them. I'm always surprised to see how early spring comes in your part of the world. Fills me with hope (and a touch of envy)!
This is just heavenly! I think your field is just perfect. The squirrels and chipmunks always seem to decimate my crocuses/croci so an abundance is out of the question, if any rebloom I am amazed and happy with sporadic ones.
Interesting - I was there at 3.30 today and all the buds were closed. Much less good for photo opportunities, but as a former circadian clocks in plants researcher pretty cool that there's such a difference over the course of a couple of hours! Will have to get there earlier tomorrow!
Have a brilliant day tomorrow with your friend.
