I seem to have gone urban grit mad this month. Ideally I'd have gone for something a bit different today but yesterday I was rather distracted by chatting and didn't do any people shots though there were characters around. And today I did take some lovely blue tits in the sun but I was too far away. So here you have another street scene from Brick Lane yesterday - a little more random than the last.
Three good things:
1. Blue sky and courting Blue Tits.
2. Finding a route to the kennels that doesn't involve about 200 serious pot holes.
3. Monty home from the kennels. He had fun - we had almost stopped doing anything that involved leaving him at kennels and it's very nice to have a happy option.
Very nice to have the option.....so agree, I used to worry so much leaving mine at kennels, almost as bad as finding a child minder!!!! Amazing colours from your rather sedate Cam ones!!!
If we ever have another dog the first thing we will do is get him used to a good kennels, must be such a relief when they like going there!
Brick lane looks a fascinating place, such colour & great focus.
Must have been great fun meeting up with your friends yesterday...friends are so important!
Owning dogs is wonderful and it mustn't stop you from having holidays so the good kennels is an important part of one's life. We have had some terrible experiences - dogs coming home covered in poo!
I can't imagine having to leave Cayenne in a kennel...on the other hand sometimes it's hard to find a housesitter available when we need him/ her. Love the stacked corner phone booths!
Do they have fun at kennels? Never dared leave poppy in one. She is probably snuggled up on kylas sofa with her best friend Tia. Me on the other hand - I'm freezing and in my lonely hotel room!
@fueast Awwww.... He hated the previous one but he's very chilled out at this one - wanders in and out of his room and relaxes on his very own pink human bed!
Lovely colourful shot, I have never left Cookie in a kennel, no need really as all the family dog/cat sit so we are very lucky there, my sister used Kennels once as she was a way for 6 weeks and thought it best and it was a diet camp as they came home so slim, shows we over feed them.
Love the caption and all those bright colours. We left out previous dog, a lab in kennels one night when it was impossible to get him looked after. When we went to get him he was standing in the middle of their yard and he was literally drooping all over, so dejected. First and last visit!
@cookie123 Monty is generally a bit hungry when he gets home (no begging) and a bit thirsty as he doesn't like drinking out of a bowl - he needs to lose a couple of pounds - so do I - maybe I should go too!
@jennywren When I picked him up from the previous one (which wasn't horrible actually) he was standing all hunched up because his tail was tucked so far between his legs. He seems to be fine at this one though - they are all very relaxed and the dogs are assigned specific staff so that they bond.
We've never sent out poor little pampered pooch to kennels - always found a neighbour or friend who's happy to look after her. Things will change this year as out lovely elderly dog-sitter sadly died last year. I can't quite make out this shot - is it just graffiti?
nicely slipped in song title here judith....i always did like blondie :) ....gr8 vibrant colours and i like the curved corners that give it an 80's snapshot feel :)
We are so lucky with Alf our wonderful dog sitter! He doesn't cost any more than the kennels although you do have to supply him with all his food etc. wonderfully gritty urban shot and love the tardis in amongst the telephone boxes!
@busylady Graffiti scrawls, stickers and a receding wall on the right hand side. Seems like everybody has willing dog sitters except us!! Nigel's dad is great and comes to sit the whole menagerie if we go away for a few days - just odd days though it's handy to have another option.
Awesome colours - full of interest. Berts has only spent 2 hours in a kennels - he went to pieces and so did Julie. Apparently he spent most of the time I was away this week looking at the front door :)
