I keep walking passed and taking photos of Bella Italia so I thought I'd post today - I'm sure i've got a better one with cutlery from a couple of weeks back but I can't find it - no danger of anybody wishing to eat outside this week.
Four good things:
1. Really enjoying 'The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry' by Rachel Joyce. It has overtones of Maggie O'Farrell's 'How to Survive a Heatwave' and (I believe) 'The Hundred Year Old Man'. Must be a phase. I must say the thought of walking to get somewhere rather than just going round in a circle is rather appealing. I remember my granddad turning up on the doorstep one evening after walking over 5 miles from his house. My dad was delighted and drove him home again after a beer or something but I'm guessing my granddad was trying to escape my step-grandmother!
2. Adam is less stressed by the approach of his two tough exam days than I am (I think this may not be a good thing).
3. My nephew has passed his driving test - now the babies all seem properly grown up...
4. Exciting trip to London tomorrow.
@lucypics Just telling @happypat that I've just found my charging battery unplugged with Adam's laptop plugged in instead! Cheeky devil. Feeling a bit depressed about having to wear warm clothes...
I have charged mine!! I am hoping it will be warmer in London? I loved Harold Fry...got a bit fed up with the 100 year old man & can't remember if I ever finished that. Did you ever read Englands Lane by Joseph Connelly that is in a similar vein.
Lovely violas & I Iove to eat at Bella Itallia! You will feel better leaving Adam tomorrow if he is less stressed!!
@happypat Hmm - I don't know! I've told Nigel (currently stuck in Amsterdam airport) he's to put his foot down with a firm hand. Haven't tried that Joseph Connelly though I think I've got one of his about a ship?? Just wondering if I'm going to have to take a thick jacket - think I probably will as I was cold out with the dog today - I'll test it at 8 am!
@judithg Well Cathy borrowed my thick jacket & it hasn't come back!!! I have a warm wax jacket I could wear but if it's too hot it will be a darn nuisance as it's heavy. Think i am going to plump for layers!!!
oooh judith, you and pat are on a 365 london trip.....how nice is that:) ...you are both 'bessie friends' to each other on 365 so i expect it will be a fabulous meet :) ..i look forward to the shots @happypat ...as for bella ...super DOF and lovely viola's as a centre piece
Pretty shot and lovely DoF. How funny I saw the daily topic was bicycle and was sure you would do one of your lovely bike shots! Enjoy London, it's supposed to be sunny here tomorrow unlike today!
Very sweet photo. We call these violas and lovingly Johnnie-Jump-Ups. They self-seed. They are popping up in my herb garden and brick walk. I love them.
Oh I want to read Harold Fry. Was rushed out of library last time so didn't have time to do a proper peruse and just grabbed Sense of an Ending (Julian Barnes). Enjoying so far though the fallibility of memory theme could get tedious if he doesn't tone it down a notch.
Hope you enjoyed London. Randomly enough I was in Cambridge yesterday!
@jewelsandbinoculars Oh weird! A bit warmer today... We had a little chat about you as we went through Angel - trying to work out which bit of London you are in and Pat said she thought Angel because you frequent the pub occasionally :0))

Pretty violas too.
