If I had read my horoscope for today I think it would have said something about 'unexpected organisation'. A bit of rationalisation of the bottles collecting by the cooker led to a complete overhaul of my spice and herb collection (75 pots to start with!) which resulted in spaces in the tins and jars cupboard so I sorted that out as well. And then I had enough room to make a shelf for bags of flour and so I ended up sorting out the 'baking goods cupboard' and then the pasta and rice shelf. Just when I was feeling smug Adam came in and opened the snack cupboard - there is work still to do. I'm not a stickler for Best Before dates but even I draw the line at 2003.
3GT
1. A nice cycle into town and a mosey round the shops - too lazy to try things on so not expensive....
2. My compost bin smells very exotic since I put the old spices in it.
3. A warm spot for a well-earned G&T while the dinner cooked.
I know that smug feeling when you have had a good re-organisation! Well done and you have managed a really good shot into the bargain! Love the line of bicycles, wall and wisteria, wonderful!
I am always very embarrassed by the debris on the shelf after I have been in my cupboards...where do all those bits come from?
Love your wall of bikes Judith & that towering hedge of Wisteria...just lovely & a fave for me.
Lovely to have some sun though I have wasted most of the sun by sitting in the pub most of the afternoon!
I had a bit of a clear out recently and went through medication that was so out of date as well. Nice shot of this old wall and the wisteria is beautiful
Beautiful Cambridge. This wisteria must be really old, the size of the main stem! Beautiful scene with the bikes, wall and wisteria stretching such a long way. Perfect with the sun too. Love this shot. Fav
Ah - you see, I just KNEW 3 GT was three gin and tonics!!! Awesome shot - and hardly any people. Good news on the kitchen shelf sorting out - it always makes you feel better.
FAV!!!love the bike line up and the wisteria just makes the picture. we have bulk food stashed for the millenium crisis that didn't happen and we are still eating them...the legumes take quite a while to cook though. No dates on them so I forget it's been so long
Really nice composition. Love the lined up bikes and beautiful wisteria.
That smug feeling is so wonderful when we get these overdue jobs done. Mine was paperwork today.
I expect herbs and spices even though they are dried, lose a lot of their punch over time - well done for that! This picture is lovely - so much wisteria and so many bikes!
What a wonderful shot, flowers and bicycles what could be better. I dread to think what lurks in our spice cupboard, oh well one more year won't matter....will it!
Love the shot and the story of your tidying - so satisfying. I think the sunshine inspired me too. I put the duvet and pillows in the sun and turned the mattress!
@maggiemae Yes I don't think they go 'bad' but probably go 'off'. Mind you they smelled so go when I was tipping them out do I could recycle the bottles that I did wonder!!
great sets of repeating patterns form both the bicycles and the wisteria and the wall providing an interesting texture to join them, there is just something so pleasing about the patterns in this scene
Haha, an exotic smelling compost - that's just wonderful ;). Sounds like a really productive day. Wonder when I'll have one of those again... What a lovely perspective - looks even like spring (unlike here...).
Once you start it's difficult to stop! Once this year's module is done and dusted I will be doing some starting! Beautiful sunny shot with all that lilac and the pretty shadows xx

"Best before.." Not: "Must Be Before.."! Y'all be fine!

I try keep things within a decade of the best before date too. ;)
If your spices still smell exotic you've jumped the gun throwing them out, BB 2003 or not!
