Monty telling me what he thinks of me after a day in his crate. This was the only couple of minutes when he wasn't either locked up or on a lead today - there has been a lot of bottom shoving and trying to coax him back in with treats after toilet breaks.
Three GT
1. I'm going out to a meeting so I won't have to listen to him whining to come out.
2. He's mostly been asleep today
3. I have passed my anti-bribery test (it's impossible to fail unless you're a complete numpty but don't tell anybody).
I didn't even know this sweet creature could give such dirty looks but being locked up is no fun, especially when you just don't understand why. Hope the weeks pass fast until you can let him out again. I thought you passed the anti-bribery test with Monty, hihi ;).
So sorry to hear poor Monty (and you) have had such a totally horrible time! Poor chap! It sounds like he has been so brave. I hope the operation has been a complete success and hope he is feels much better after his oh so long recuperation period! Give Monty a huge hug from Rennes and I, bless him! : ))
Poor guy. I've been trying to catch up and read back. I will just add that our 11 year old Welsh Corgi Charlie probably has a disk problem in his neck. We opted to forgo the MRI as we had decided against surgery. Having had back surgery twice I decided not to put him through it. He is taking 1mg of Prednisone every day for the past almost two years and doing fine! I think we did a month of crate rest and the drugs. He is a happy camper, goes for walks when it is warmer here and loves to go on vacation. He will be here and happy as long as he is still smiling.
A very reproachful look indeed poor lamb although I must say he doesn't look like he has lost any weight!!! His hair is not following the usual route of a humans when you are ill....still thick & soft whereas mine has looked horrendous this week!
Must be awful not able to let him out now he is feeling stronger.....will be worth it in the end tell him! Keep up the good work!
@happypat he is a bit trimmer if you view him from above - going to have to try and maintain that which could be tricky with the lack of exercise and all the bribes we're needing.
@cdonohoue I think corgis have the same faulty gene. Monty is only 6 and the drugs were not working - the vet said there was no way of controlling his pain with that level of slipped disc (apart from surgery) so it made the decision easy in the end. I'm not sure that we'd put him through it again if another disc goes though so we are going to have to restrict his favourite chasing games which is sad. They say he will be back to normal activity in 6 weeks.
Oh no, how can you bear to look at that sad face? A definite case of you have to be cruel to be kind. It'll all be worth it in the end tho. It'll all seem like a bad dream in a few weeks time.
Poor little chap, love his raised bowls! Is he eating ok?He at least still looks nicely chunky. (Don't tell him I said that). Bless his little heart, love him and a fav :-)
Ah, there's the boy. Poor Monty...oh, the indignities of crate confinement. The elevated feeding bowls are perfect for his neck. I hope that Monty's recovery time with be quick and uneventful for everyone's sake and sanity.
So glad you are bribery-proof, Judith. :)

Our anti bribery test at work is a nightmare....managed to get it at 2nd attempt!!
Hope things are more usual soon!
So glad you are bribery-proof, Judith. :)
