I had to post a bird shot today (even not a very good one) because I was up at 5.30 with a woofy dog and the dawn chorus was fantastic. Their minds are definitely turning to spring. When I went out to the hens there was magpie gathering twigs for a nest and as I stood at the backdoor with my camera waiting for some bird feeder action a heron flew over. Sadly the camera was on the wrong setting for a sky shot but it was all very heartwarming for a city garden. In Monty news he is definitely limping - actually on three legs lest I shouldn't notice. I think it may be sore yeasty feet though so I'm giving the anti=yeast shampoo a go this week to see if it does the trick.
Three GT:
1. Being so grumpy after my 5.30 am excursion that I got tea in bed.
2. A beautiful day and the promise of more to come.
3. I've cleaned out the greenhouse - it didn't happen last year as the weather was freezing cold well into April - and I have seeds all ready to go.
Cheeky little shot, and so nice to see the birds enjoying the weather. Yes I've heard the dawn chorus recently - I'm still waking up quite early after our NZ trip.
Poor Monty, not another fly in the ointment or should I say mite in the pad? Love the LTT, such tiny little sprats and flit everywhere so quickly. Need to get these to sit on my basket. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow ;-)
Such a sweet shot of this little visitor. Sounds like Spring is in the air in your part of the planet. Poor Monty ~ I hope the magical shampoo does the trick for his ailing feet.
Such pretty birds - we haven't had any in our garden for a while. Sympathise with the early starts - sometimes get them if Luna sees a fox in the garden and puts me in a foul mood all day!
I'm missing springtime on the boat. Watching all the birds start nesting was definitely one of the joys (the loud flappy early morning goose-sex directly outside the bedroom window was not, though, so it's swings and roundabouts I guess).
