It was mid afternoon by the time I got chance to take Monty out so to avoid school run traffic we headed out to the riverbank at Milton. It was a little unnerving to arrive and park up amongst a group of senior German bikers relieving themselves all along the hedgerow so I was glad to have a nice old man to chat to about the dog. On a better note the sun broke through and I dumped my rain coat in the back of the car and set off to enjoy the unexpected perfect June weather. When I went down the river the swan's nest was deserted with no sign of life but on the way back both parents and six cygnets were out and about stirring up the weeds. This is the family featured on 20th May - may get chance some time this week to check on the others.
Three GT:
1. Sunshine on a supposedly rainy day
2. Watching Monty's happy bottom disappear off up the path
3. Cheerful and sociable cyclists on the towpath - they didn't go charging past us and some even stopped to fuss Monty - makes a change from some days!
@rosiekind just checked and there were definitely 7 at one point - I suppose it's still a decent survival rate. I also took a little bird I'll post tomorrow hopefully to see if you can tell me what it is if that's ok!
A beautifully composed shot Judith, you couldn't have placed them any better yourself!.....love her beak reflection repeated again & again! You must have been very near those weeing cyclists to catch the German language!
How lovely to hear Monty is leading in front again......
You've captured a fab composition here, including 3 or is it 4 swan beak reflections - which make me think of my chap with a reflection of his disembodied head during the floods in Winchester!
How lovely to hear Monty is leading in front again......
It wasn't a 'passing place' that they had stopped at? It could easily have been misunderstood ;-)
