In the Northern Territory they teach the crocodiles to jump
One of the best trips/touristy things I did when in Darwin was going on a jumping crocodile cruise. They take you out on a boat on a river about an hour south of Darwin and then they dangle meat (from a pole) over the water and the crocodiles jump up from the water to get the chunks of meat.
Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone, it was a good day for me, I attended my Provisional Motorcycle Riders Test - there were 5 people in my test group - three passed and I was one of those three! Yay for me. The learners permit is valid for 2 years and learners have to wait 3 months from the learners course before attempting the test. Many people wait 18 months or more, for me it was just over 3 months, so I am feeling pretty proud of myself.
I also have a new heat source whilst waiting for my ducted gas heating to be repaired, I bought an ethanol fire, it is mostly good as supplementary heat, and more decorative, but tonight I am loving the beautiful open flames - just watching it makes me feel warmer.
Ha! What an incredible shot! Reminds me of the crocodile from Peter Pan..! And well done missus on passing your test - that's brilliant news! So glad you're enjoying it.
Happy May 5th to you too :)
@bobfoto yes Adelaide River - I loved it - did the trip twice while I was in Darwin for three months and wish I had done it a couple more times than that. Also did a fabulous trip at midnight to Shady Camp on the Mary River, watching the big crocs cross the barrage from fresh to salt water
@lbmcshutter - Only ever been to Alice. Would love to visit the Darwin part of the top end one day. Was planning on doing it this dry season, but I'm already booked for the next 3 months.
Happy May 5th to you too :)
Congrats on the test
