OK, I am not 100% sure it is abandoned, perhaps just closed for winter, there did seem to be work going on there, I'm not sure if they are building more slides, doing maintenance or dismantling things.
I have seen some super shots done of this park and decided to do something a little different using my b&w infrared camera in the late afternoon light. I love the way infrared affects foliage making it look snowy and frosted.
The only post-processing is a slight crop, all the magic happens in camera with a camera adapted to infrared 850nm.
Thank you everyone for my birthday greetings, I had a lovely birthday which I enjoyed all weekend.
Look like a neat water park. I hope it is just closed for the season. I'm glad that you have had an amazing birthday weekend. I hope that this next year is full of joy and happiness.
I'd say very cool shot but with infrared it's not, actually it's hot. The biologist in me immediately goes to IR reflectance reduces heat buildup in leaves which reduces water loss through transpiration to evaporatively cool the photosynthesizing tissues. The artistic side of me says lovely BW, neat how the trees appear as negative elements. So much for my loquacious Sunday morning in bed postings, have a great ending to your B'day weekend.
@cathy366 yep Big Splash at Jamison - I will have to go a little earlier in the afternoon when I am not cold and tired. I have seen awesome night shots of it done by someone I follow on Flickr
