A Special Butterfly

Thrilled to get a shot of this eastern tiger swallowtail (female: note the ribbon of blue at the end of the lower wings) Today is the 47th wedding anniversary for my friend Joy and her husband, Mark. We had just finished doing tai chi in the park when I took this photo. I think this butterfly is special for Joy and Mark.

Gorgeous… super fav. Wow… I thought all eastern tigers were yellow with black stripes… turns out the females can be yellow or black. So glad you had such a beautiful encounter with this butterfly to celebrate your friend’s anniversary.
