This crucifix is in the old St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church cemetery that sits at the junction where our country road meets the highway. The church is long gone, but the small cemetery is still cared for and the crosses still stand tall on the flat horizon of the Nebraska plains.
@peterdegraaff Never thought about it, but it is. Due west there are just widely scattered ranches for a hundred miles or so. About fifty miles southwest you come to the North Platte River and the Oregon Trail. The river valley is more heavily populated than the plains.
