Both boys ran cross-country when in high school, and I always enjoyed their meets. I decided to revisit the experience, only to discover that this meet is no longer held in the park and I was an hour late finding the golf course. Beautiful run! I also learned that the girls now run the same 5K as the boys. These two were the front runners in the girl's varsity race. The front runner lost by 2 seconds as the gal beside her kicked it in at the finish. Ok boys ... these girls finished at 19:58 and 20:00. Eldest worked so hard to get down to around 18:00 in his runs! As for the boys ... that was like two races. The winner came in at 16:22. He far outpaced the rest of the runners. It was nice to revisit a meet, but not quite the same as years ago.
