If you look closely you will see that each zebra has it's own individual striping pattern. The foal has straight lines running up from the muzzle between its eyes, while its mother has a few interestingly curved lines with an oblong shape on hers. I read today that zebra stripes are not just for camouflage, but also deter flies because the stripes disrupt linearly polarized light, and may help with cooling as the stripes create convection currents. Wish our horses had some natural fly repellant and cooling mechanism for our summers. Oh yes .. zebras do look better on black if you are so inclined.
Another gorgeous zebra portrait. I must say, even though I have spent many years living in Africa I didn't know the facts about the stripes deterring flies in adult zebra - fascinating.
Hi April, we are paired up for get pushed 194. I have really enjoyed looking through you project and seeing the progression that you have made; your determination in revisiting techniques and shots along the way to hone your technique; and your continued enthusiasm for trying out new things. It has been difficult to come up with a challenge, as you have tried so much, so I'm going to suggest we allow chance to play its part...
Write down
-two of your 'bucket list' shots/techniques you have yet to try
-one that you have tried and never wanted to do again
-one that you have tried and really want to try again
into the mix add
-a torchlight shot (torch as a light source rather than to draw with)
-shooting a cat based idiom e.g. putting the cat among the pigeons (oodles of bonus for achieving this without using a cat in the photo)
Now you can either put all the options into a hat & pull one out, roll a die to see what you get, or any other method you like. The one that comes out is your topic.

Does that work ok for you?
Enjoy.
