Liz pushed me to write down
-two of your 'bucket list' shots/techniques you have yet to try-one that you have tried and never wanted to do again-one that you have tried and really want to try again
into the mix add
-a torchlight shot (torch as a light source rather than to draw with)-shooting a cat based idiom e.g. putting the cat among the pigeons (oodles of bonus for achieving this without using a cat in the photo)
Now you can either put all the options into a hat & pull one out, roll a die to see what you get, or any other method you like. The one that comes out is your topic.
So ... amidst this variety was a splash photo (bucket list). This is one I've always wanted to try but never done and, may never do again. I can not believe how difficult this was for me to achieve. I used tea because I thought it would give a nice color. Instead I had tea everywhere ... literally ... counter top, floor, drawers. I tried sugar cubes and ice cubes, dropped and thrown. Continuous shoot with a remote, but my timing was terrible. After three hours I still didn't get what I hoped for i.e. something akin to one of Arefin's @wind_of_the_sothern_sea splash shots. Still, here's a splash helped along with Lightroom and Silver Efex. Now that is out of the mix and I'm moving on.
I am in awe of this picture!!!! I think it is excellent! I really want to do some sort of splash....but after reading this, I may just have a splash in the bath tomorrow and forget about a picture! I'm not sure I could keep going for hours with it. But this is so worth while! Well worth some Favs!
Hi April I've applied to the challenge thing is it correct that we have been paired up ?? I don't know if you can send a private message. Love this splash image very good. Do you know where we go as far as sending each other challenges and so on ??
@ellieburgin Hi Ellie! Yep. We are partners for the upcoming week. When you have a challenge for me, just post a comment on my most recent posting (which might be this one as I'm a bit behind right now). I will do the same ...
Hi April, wow you have done a great job, but it sounds like it was hard work getting there, but so worth the effort. Trending page too, well done you.
Your commentary did make me giggle, I guess we have all got ourselves into a mess trying to get a shot. I know I have far too many times. Tea was a brave choice so well done on persevering & coming away with a good shot in the end.
After all that effort, you deserve the praise! I have never tried one but I am so scared to as well, because I just would have a mess everywhere and not one good shot! I just know it! You did brilliantly and if I had this shot Id be happy with myself!!!
