mandala

Since I am paralyzed when it comes to a color choice when trying to color, I thought I'd give these scratch art mandalas a try. I like the surprise of discovering what colors lie beneath the surface.
Looks like a fun hobby - never heard of it and Wikipedia doesn't give a lot of detail on its origins or how it is done.

@farmreporter @gardenfolk Scratch art paper is a multi-colored coated paper. You use a wooden stylus to scratch off the coating to reveal the color underneath. I found a Mandala scratch art book where the lines of the mandalas are printed on the coating. You trace over the lines, scratching off the coating, to create the mandala. My children had done free-hand scratch art projects in high school. This was the first time I'd seen printed scratch art materials. Not as meditative as coloring, but I did manage to stay focused for a few hours.
