I live on the high plains with few trees and expansive skies, but the Pine Ridge lies just a few miles away. The Ridge is mainly covered with Ponderosa Pines (despite many fires over the years) with beautiful old Cottonwoods and other deciduous trees along the river and creek bottoms. My parents have a small acreage along a creek in the ridge. When a fire roared through a decade ago the firefighters couldn't save the pines, but the Hot Shots sprayed the barn. Thankfully the fire didn't spread down to the creek, and their summer home was spared too. I spent a few hours there this weekend taking in the glorious autumn colors before Mother Nature brings the inevitable freeze and winds.
Hi April, my challenge for you this week is repetition, via a collection of identical objects or finding a repeating pattern in your environment. you can do it as a collage if you find several things alike but in differing locations, hope that is ok for you..
