There is great beauty and comfort in rituals. My father passed today. He was 91, and a WWII veteran. This honor guard was not standing for his funeral, but for another deceased veteran. Still, I was drawn to the beauty of the flags and the respect of these veterans. They remind me of my father's unending patriotism and his life of service to his family, community and country. He was a very special man who left a very special mark on the lives of all he touched. He was the epitomy of the Greatest Generation.
Bless you all with peace at this difficult time. This memorial tribute photo is so touching. Veterans really treat each other with respect as we all should. Hugs...may your father rest well.
