Last fall I noticed the flickers busy at work in the dead trees drilling out holes. I thought that meant they would summer here. They did not, though many of my summer birds did take advantage of the work they did last fall. I noticed the characteristic flight the other day, and here is one yet again. I think I'm just on their migratory route. Nice to see them back, even for a brief while.
