For our last day for the Nebraska Birding Bowl we visited Wildcat Hills. The center had a busload of children, so we wandered down the road a bit. I didn't realize you could drive around the area. Very narrow roads, but we found a lovely pullout and took a short walk. Lots of birds and great scenery. We did get to stop at the visitor's center on our way out and watch the children take off with a camp leader on a hike. They left us in peace to enjoy the bird feeders and water features filled with goldfinches, house finches, and sparrows. There was even a surprise red crossbill watching all the activity. Lovely last day for the Birding Bowl.
