Starting our 2 day drive home and had to post these pictures despite their poor quality. The billboard on the left alerts drivers that they are approaching the town of Lawtey where the speed limit is "strictly enforced." What that means is the budget of this town is funded by speeding fines. AAA, the motor club, pays for this high profile warning and all I can say is ignore the warning at your peril. I have seen scofflaws pulled over at the side of the road many times when we traveled this route.
The other sign is so beyond the bounds of good taste, I can only shake my head in wonderment. Do you think anyone makes such a decision from reading about it on a roadside sign?
Lawtey, Fl. Wow. I lived Northeast of there, an hour away. Lawtey is, to me at least, the type of Florida Town that was epitomised in the movie, Porky's.
Love the signage thing. I won't delve into "Dr. Richard Chop on da billboard".
@digitalrn My son shares custody of Maddie with his ex-wife so he has her from Sunday to Wed. morning. We all left the house at the same time this morning. (You know what they say, after 3 days fish and house guests begin to smell.) This way we're all anxious to get together again!
haha... i have seen that same billboard last year coming back from Florida
and yes... the seven hills of Richmond exist... it was a lot of fun driving through the city and locating them
