I have seen some beautiful photos tagged with this week's theme and felt frustrated because nothing inspired me. This afternoon as I escorted some students across campus, a first grader announced proudly that he had selected a piece of bubble gum from the treat jar in his class. "Great," I exclaimed excitedly, imagining a portrait with the little boy's head supplanted with a huge pink bubble. "Can you blow me a big bubble?" I asked enthusiastically. "Well no," he admitted shamefacedly. He couldn't blow any kind of a bubble at all.
No matter, I decided, it's the potential in that piece of gum that got Finian excited in the first place. Just like the possibilities wrapped up in that little boy, we can imagine all kinds of wonderful things yet to be discovered.
So I got my inspiration and my picture!
