These are just some of the pictures I took on my morning walk. From news reports I learned that 75% of Richmond lost power, including most of these homes. Although I never lost electricity, my school did, so student orientation has been cancelled for tomorrow. My internet service was off until this afternoon but I'd really be a spoiled brat to complain about that!

to help put things in perspective.
Allison, I went for a drive and stopped a few places to take photos but then I felt so badly for the people that I stopped...was afraid they would be upset with me documenting their bad luck. Yet, in spite of all the trees down, for the most part the rain was not the cause of flooding for us like it was near the coast. Like you, I feel I can't complain...
@hwy61 Actually I wasn't the only person documenting the wreckage. There were lots of pedestrians, including some with cameras, so I didn't like like too much of a voyeur.
OMG! Glad no one was in the path of that huge tree and it didn't hit the house. As much as I love trees, they can kill if one is in the way during a storm. Great collage!
Just amazing to see the size of those trees. We had several the same size go down. It's hard to unobtrusively take a picture of natural disasters. But the pictures will at least make people understand the destructive force of the storm. Great collage to put it all into perspective.
Wow. My brother is in Annapolis, but they didn't get near the damage. There were some trees blown over, but they also didn't have a decent root system (they had a pretty easy life until that point I think). Glad to hear you're doing well and hope your power comes back on soon!
