Big doings in the Middle School. When the Upper School got a brand new Academic Commons, including a state-of-the-art library, the Middle School was left with an old, dark and cramped building. By now you all should realize that such a discrepancy would not be allowed to remain. The building was gutted over the summer, lots of big windows added as well as all the latest in technology and furniture. The projected opening should be at the end of September. This afternoon I was given a private tour by the Middle School librarian who, as you can imagine, can hardly wait to get into her new facility. Especially since she is currently operating out of 2 modular classrooms. (That's "trailers", to those in the know.)
Great circular shapes and curved lines . . . enjoy that new library! At least your district values libraries, unlike Philadelphia! (I'm a former school librarian myself!)
@jyokota I must tell you, I am a librarian in an innovative K-12 independent school. The public schools in Richmond are not so committed to education as my school is!
