Oktoberfest in September

I can't quite figure out why the local Catholic church holds its Oktoberfest in September. We have good weather in October in Richmond and I think beer drinking is always in style. I didn't even have their celebration in mind when I walked east rather than west this afternoon. I wasn't carrying any money but I came away with lots of good pictures, and the sounds of polkas ringing in my ears.

Maybe they hold it earlier so they do not have to compete with the other Oktoberfest celebrations. Fun collage.

Actually Ocktoberfest traditionally begins in late September. My hubby was stationed in Munich in the 60s and went to several. I have some of the mugs here in our collection. Always fun times and I love your collage. That dachshund looks like he's enjoying it, too.
