This month’s “3 in 30” program was right up my alley. From the description on the VMFA calendar of events: Children’s picture books often provide fascinating insights into artists and their work. Come and discover how beautifully illustrated children’s books can inspire investigations of Dave the Potter, Mary Cassatt’s Child Picking a Fruit, and Sergei Maliutin’s “Teremok” Chair
It was fun to make connections between art and different kinds of picture books which I already knew from Collegiate’s library but I also loved being introduced to some unfamiliar books.
This monthly 30 minute program is offered once in the day and again in the evening. No reservation required and no fee. I wish more Richmonders would take advantage of this opportunity.
