My friend and I were in Greenwich Village at the most recognizable landmark of the area, The Washington Park Arch https://www.amazon.com/photos/shared/s2HMpVpbQGaSg36s1UcDZQ.M7wihjlKj5iaZqulEmF95w
I thought it might be fun if Laura could take my picture in front of the Arch. Since she was not familiar with my camera, I showed her what to do and then moved back to pose. She assured me she had captured the moment. Only later that evening did I see that this elderly man, so bent over he couldn’t see where he was, had crossed in front and I was merely a dot in the background.
Ha ha ha! That's pretty funny - and a frequent outcome I think. It's always a hoot to hand over your camera, then look at the results later. People always think they're doing you a big favor - ha ha! :)
It almost looks like he's ducking so he won't be in the picture- but obviously not far enough! Too bad your friend didn't realize he was in the shot. But, the story is a fun part of your memories of this trip so although it's not the shot you wanted or planned it's still a good one to remember the day by.
