Our art department is getting ready for the school-wide Art Walk being held all over the campus on April 11. A display of cut paper collages in the style of various modern masters has been hung in the hall of one of the Lower School buildings. Other pieces imitated Monet, Chagall and other 20th century giants. It is hard to believe these works were created by 8th graders. The colors are fresh and bold and the paper work has an authority that suggests a much more experienced artist. I can't wait to see what other treasures will be exhibited.
We sure have a talented bunch of 8th grade students/artists! This is wonderful...and it reminds me that I beet er get myself over to see the Picasso exhibit before I miss out!
